The vast and breathtaking fell area of Saariselka lies 300km north of the Artic Circle and extends all the way to the Russian border.
Kakslauttanen is just a 30 minute transfer from Ivalo airport. The hotels rustic log cabins are dotted amongst the trees, far enough away from one another to enable to make the most of your own 'garden area' - ideal for building a snowman!
You may wish to opt for a night in an ice room on an ice bed - reindeer skins and polar sleeping bag included. And for those wanting something completely different, twelve glass igloos provide an amazing experience. Built in the traditional dome shape, the igloos allow an uninterruped view of the skies and makes you feel like you are sleeping under the stars.
You will also find a cozy restaurant serving hearty local delicacies, a huge wood burning sauna (mixed) - actually the largest in the world, with a hole outside cut into the ice for those brave enough for a plunge; an Ice Bar; a wonderful ice chapel and an ice gallery.
